Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate are home to a large number of independent shops where you can find anything from unique gifts, art and hand crafted goods to locally produced food, antiques and retro furniture. Of course there are out of town options as well.    

Ramsgate – there's a selection of High Street and independent shops in Ramsgate town centre, about a 10 minute walk from Redcot House. These include Boots, WHSmith, Argos, Peacocks, Wilkinsons and Waitrose as well as independent bakers, fruit & veg shops, florists and jewellers. Most banks have a branch in the town and there are lots of little places to stop for a coffee! 

Broadstairs – a similar mix of shops to Ramsgate and some famous cafe's.

Westwood Cross – this is the new Thanet town centre, about 3 miles away and with plenty of free parking. You can also catch a bus from the harbour. Here you will find a mix of retail & leisure parks and major clothes, gifts and general shops, including Debenhams, M&S, Next, TK Maxx, River Island, H&M, Waterstones, Body Shop and many more. There’s also a Mecca Bingo, Vue multiplex cinema, Ask restaurant and a Frankie & Bennies.

In Westwood Cross retail parks you will find Tesco, Sainsburys, Maplin, Sports World, Matalan, Dunelm, BHS Home, Brantano, Argos, Comet, Laura Ashley, Currys, PC World, The Range, Poundsaver and a host of DIY stores.
